- Doors - Lincoln White, in the Contemporary range, features a modern styled shaker design manufactured using a synthetic coating on MDF (medium density fibreboard). The doors are tested by the Furniture Industry Research Association (F.I.R.A.) to satisfy Gold Award Standard BS6222 Level G - Domestic Kitchen Furniture.
- Cabinets - Lincoln White fitted kitchen has an 18mm melamine faced, particleboard cabinet with 8mm particleboard backs completely sealed all round to avoid moisture penetration and finished in white effect only. All base carcasses are mounted on adjustable legs and come complete with adjustable shelves. The melamine faced particleboard used for Kitchen Direct’s carcasses and accessories conforms to the following British Standards:
- BS EN312- part 3. Formaldehyde content meets class 1 specification BS7331 Direct Surface Wood Chipboard. BS6222 - Domestic Kitchen Equipment. All wall units (340mm deep), likewise, have fully adjustable shelving, matching wall brackets, nickel-plated 1 DO-degree hinges and nickel-plated shelf supports. Both wall and base carcasses have service void at rear.
- Drawer boxes - The Tandem-box stainless steel sided drawer system utilises a 15mm MFC base and back which affords a strength and rigidity capable of carrying a 30kg load. Incorporating concealed, guided full extension runners, with Blumotion mechanism. This gives a perfect self-closing action, silent and effortless. This system has undergone rigorous trials involving 100,000 drawer movements, satisfying BS6222 for general and heavy domestic use.
- Worktops - Available in a range of colours, the hard wearing, high pressure laminate faced 39mm thickness worktops meet BS (British Standard) EN438 (1991), and are heat resistant to 180 degrees Celsius (does not apply to pans direct from hobs, cookers or ovens). This features a moisture seal below the front edge, which prevents ingress into the core board by surplus water that may run over the front edge of the worktop. Kitchens Direct offer a range of solid surface worktops, such as Tectops, which satisfy the FIRA Gold Award. Solid surface worktops are extremely durable but will still scratch or burn, solid surface worktops can be repaired.
We offer a range of solid timber worktops, timber is of course a natural product which can be harmed if not regularly treated or subjected to prolonged exposure to water.
Worktops are subject to a high degree of use within the kitchen area and must be treated with the utmost care. Please read the manufacturer's guidelines carefully as to the care and maintenance of the worktops. - Cornice, pelmets & plinth - Our Lincoln White kitchen comes with elegantly styled white painted MDF cornice and pelmet; white plinth is manufactured from 18mm MDF and painted white.
- End gables - Lincoln White kitchen has white painted blenders manufactured from 8mm MDF, although end support panels are an optional extra.
- Accessories - Lincoln White kitchen has, as an optional extra, accessories manufactured from 18mm white painted MDF such as shelving etc (some may have solid timber ancillary items) and are not included in the cabinet price for this range.
- Lincoln White fitted kitchen features a combination of white effect finished materials which, although they may vary slightly in colour, nonetheless fall within acceptable industry standards and are commensurate with this display kitchen.
- Items such as pilasters, tambours, stainless steel plinth, cargo units etc are all optional extras and are not included in the cabinet price for this particular kitchen range.
